Pet Therapy

Detail about our services

Visits from furry friends like dogs and cats have shown to help temporarily overcome feelings of depression and stimulate the release of endorphins. Being in hospice care can make a patient feel isolated, pet therapy can encourage communication and limit loneliness for those living with a life-limiting illness.

Faith in Angels Hospice will coordinate a visit from a certified Animal Assisted Therapy pet to your residence at no extra cost.

The benefits of interacting with a therapy pet are countless. The patient can have a momentary reprieve from any feelings of isolation, anger, and depression. The owners of the therapy pets are usually volunteers, and the bond formed between a pet and its owner when they work together to increase the quality of life of another is yet another added benefit of this interaction.

My impressions of the services were comparable to some of the best agencies we dealt with. The nurses were very responsive and caring. If it hadn’t been for them, it would have been very difficult for me on my own. Their help was invaluable, the agency that was sending 24-hour care. The care that they provided was very valuable, and they did an absolutely terrific job in assisting me with his care in his final days of illness. I will definitely be giving a contribution to FIAH, and highly recommend them.”
