Our volunteers are our Angels.
Although volunteers are not a part of the hospice interdisciplinary care team, they are nonetheless a vital part of a patient’s emotional and mental comfort and well-being. Many people volunteer because they have had an experience with hospice and feel like they want to give back. Others have heard about hospice and simply want to support the hospice philosophy of care and just be there for patients during their time of need. Faith in Angels Hospice volunteers share a strong belief in kindness and compassion and are all committed to comfort and quality for every individual at the end-of-life.
Volunteers provide companionship, play cards, read books, go on outings, prepare light meals, run errands, offer transportation to the store or an appointment. Their duties and assistance may also be valuable in the hospice administrative office assisting answering phones, mailing, and clerical support.
Sometimes, volunteers with unique attributes are needed, fluency in another language, a veteran willing to work with other vets, a fund raiser willing to raise support for hospice, or someone who wants to talk about hospice at health fairs or speaking engagements. All different, and all are important in the lives of our patients and their families.

I want to personally thank you and your wonderful employees for how you handled my brother’s care and the last few days of his life. Also wanted to thank you from all of us at the Kortlander Family for the wonderful flowers at Shawn’s memorial.
